Description

Greek mariner out of Marseilles extends maritime reach of Mediterranean sailors beyond Gibraltar and northward through the Irish Sea and around to English Channel. Likely cut across southern France rather than circumnavigated the Iberian peninsula. May have reached as far north as the Shetland Islands and "Thule"
