Paul the Apostle shipwrecked off Malta

The Christian missionary was aboard an Alexandrian grain ship, to which he had been transferred to while on Crete, on his way from Jerusalem, where he had been imprisoned, to Rome, where he wished to state his case before the Emperor Ceasar. The ship was destroyed but all 276 on board survived.
