Text

The daughter of a prominent Wall Street banker/diplomat, William Morrow, and wife of aviator Charles Lindbergh, Lindbergh became an aviator herself and published several books. Her most successful was Gift From the Sea (1955), which ranked alonside Rachel Carson's The Edge of the Sea as a national bestseller in 1955. It is a more philosophical, personal and gender-conscious reflection on her lifelong identification with the seashore.
