King of Aragon who married Isabella of Castile in 1469, thus uniting Spain's two largest kingdoms to take on the final expulsion of the Moslems from the Iberian peninsula. This completed in 1492, the same year he and Isabella backed Christopher Columbus and his "Enterprise to the Indies."
